Members of the Henry County Amateur Radio Society, (HCARS), and Henry County Emergency Radio Service, (HCARES), serve Henry County, Georgia and surrounding communities, in times of crisis, support local events, provide educational opportunities, and promoting interest in amateur radio. HCARS also conducts license testing, monthly meetings, and weekly radio net meetings.

Free Online Technician License Training

If you live in or near Henry County we offer online Technician License training and support to help prepare you for the test. Use the contact form , check "Interested in Tech Training" and a member will get in touch with you to help you get started.  Also, visit Getting Licensed

​Ready to take your Amateur License test?  Use the contact form and let us know you are ready. Testing, with advance notice, is generally offered at our monthly meetings, or another time if needed. Click here to register for the next testing session. 

Field Day 2025

HCARS will be holding Field Day activities at the Panola Mountain State Park June 28th & 29th at Panola Mountain State Park. Plan to attend. 

Times are subject to change due to weather and operational conditions: 
* Saturday, June 28: Set-up  12 pm - Operations start at 2 pm local
* Sunday, June 29: Set-up 9 am local

HCARS Weekly ARES Net Meeting
​Join us on air Monday evening at 8:00pm
​Primary repeater: 
145.170 -600kHz, PL 146.2

Linked Repeater:
146.715 -600kHz  PL 146.2

​This net is a part of the Henry County ARES and HCARS weekly net meeting and is open to all amateur radio operators. The purpose is to practice radio procedures in passing traffic, to test radio equipment, and share information about members recent radio activities. 

You do not have to be a member to participate.

Friday Nite Cruising w/HCARS Net
Come cruise with us at 8pm on Friday nite for a fun net on the 145.170, -600kHz, PL 146.2 repeater or the 146.715 -600 kHz PL 146.2.
Echolink: KJ4KPY-R
​Net is open to ALL amateur radio operators within range of the repeater. 

HCARS Monthly In-Person Meeting
Join us at 7:00pm, on the fourth Thursday of each month for the Henry County Amateur Radio Society meeting. Meeting is held at the Henry County E-911 Center.
